General con rules

• Seating is first come first serve. No sitting in aisles and beyond seating capacity is not allowed due to fire regulations of the state. We will strictly enforce this policy.

• Be courteous to other attendees, no photos without asking, don’t touch people without permission, please seal body paint! 

• Respect the space! Don’t damage the convention center in any way. If you’re caught vandalizing or misusing the space you will be asked to leave.

• Panhandling without some form of entertainment is not allowed. Busking needs to be approved by con prior to set up. 

• No laser pointers, water guns, metal swords,etc. Allowance of props is up to the discretion of con staff. If you’re denied entry because of props, please comply. You can leave them in a secure location monitored by con staff or return them to your hotel room.

• All props must be safety tagged by con staff. Removal of the tags will result in con staff asking you to leave the prop in a secure location. 

• Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in expulsion and confiscation of your badge. Convention staff reserves the right to remove you from the con, no refunds will be provided to those expelled from the con due to rule breaking.

• Photos taken by con staff can be used as advertisements. Con staff will comply with photography rules, i.e. permission before photos are taken, etc.

• Cosplay must be PG. No revealing costumes will be allowed. 

• No smoking is allowed

• Alcohol or other recreational substances will not be tolerated outside of permitted areas.

• Hotel Rules

• Exceeding maximum occupancy is not allowed. Hotel reserves the right to evict anyone unregistered as a guest from the premises. 

• No room parties

• No selling merch from hotel rooms

• Follow common sense rules and be respectful of the hotels and other guests

• Children under 12

• Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

• Badges

• Badges must be worn at all times aside from during contests. 

• Badges cannot be replaced

• Badge must be visible at all times

• Cosplay

• Real weapons are NOT allowed

• Iro Con is a family friendly event, cosplay must be PG and not revealing

• Nudity, underwear, and swimsuits are not allowed

• Iro Con is not responsible for damage to props or costumes

• If asked to cover up by staff, please comply: or else you will be asked to leave until an appropriate cosplay is worn

• Shoes must be worn at all times! No bare feet

• Masks should only be worn at the convention center and not in locations not participating in the event

• Cosplay is not consent
